Family Math Night Table Covers
I was at one of our Math Medley Family Math Night events recently and was in awe of how the family math night coordinator had set up the room. It looked like fun party was about to take place!
One of the things Suzy, the coordinator, did was to use colorful plastic table covers. I thought it was a brilliant idea. I’ve always covered my tables with colored butcher paper and it takes a time to tape down all the edges. With the plastic, no taping was necessary.
So, of course, I had to do the same thing as Suzy for the family math night event we were hosting at our sponsor school. Here’s the skinny on the table covers:
-The Dollar Tree sells a 54 inch by 108 inch table cover for $1.
-I bought two table covers for each of the 8 stations totaling 16 table covers. (We will be having our event in the multi-use room and using the cafeteria tables. Each station will need 2 tables…although the tables are actually hinged together. So does that really make it one very long table??)
-The total cost for the table covers came to $17.16. Totally worth the time I will be saving in set-up time.
-As long as the covers don’t get too dinged up during the event, they’re reusable!
Here’s what it looks like when the tables are set up (with two extra tables for the Collaborative Project):
